Consider This A Teasing.

Posted by Matthew Connor on September 29th, 2009

We know, we know, where’s the album damnit? Well, we can’t give it to you today, but we can give you this teaser video, which is currently featured prominently on the Provocatube:

We’d like to thank Jennifer McClain of 0xf8 Studios for making such a lovely video for us. We’d also like to thank our parents, fans, and God (um, hellooo) for all the support, and on a more personal note I’d like to thank my sixth grade clarinet instructor Mrs. Haigh for encouraging me to chase the stars. This one’s for you, Mrs. Haigh!

Also, let this serve as a reminder to you that we will be performing tonight at TT The Bear’s with Slick Idiot and DJ Chris Ewen. According to the website we’re on at 10:00pm which sounds pretty reasonable to me. Look, we even got a lovely write-up over on the Boston Herald blog! See, now you’d feel bad if you didn’t go.

Okay, “Carry on” as Mr. Gunn would say.

Speaking of shows!!

While we’re on the subject, I’d like to go ahead and announce that we will be performing a very special show on Halloween night! I have been told that the show will also feature Lifestyle “as” Depeche Mode and Lake Champagne “as” Prince. We haven’t decided who we’re going to be yet, perhaps you could help us out. Here are a few options:

1) The four sides of Alanis Morissette’s personality:

2) The Spice Girls (Matthew as Posh, Stacia as Ginger, Adam as Baby, Chris as Scary, and… oh wait):

3) 98 Degrees (Adam as Nick Lachey; Matthew, Stacia, and Chris as the other ones):

4) Got a better idea?! Leave it in the comments, and there had better be a picture.

What have we here.

Look at this:

Okay. It appears that there is an angry bald man in white gloves terrorizing a woman in a chair, although it’s hard to be certain what’s really going on (art, etc.). We can, however, determine that there is to be a concert next Tuesday, September 29th and that we, Provocateur, will be performing in said concert.

- You can buy tickets here.
- Indicate your interest in this concert on Going.com.
- Here’s the video for Shakira’s “She Wolf” in case you’re the only person in the world whose life hasn’t been changed by this already.

I think that should cover just about everything, but I’d be more than happy to acknowledge any questions you might have. Unless you’re going to ask me what the woman in the chair is holding, because quite frankly we haven’t been able to figure that out yet.

Chop Chop My Dick.

What’s this then? Oh, we’re playing a show on Sunday. Yes, this Sunday, at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge. We will be performing with a bunch of our friends — the delightful Chop Chop, the evocatively named My Dick — and some Californians we don’t know but have been assured are really quite lovely, Butterfly Bones. What else would you be doing on a Sunday night, sleeping? Voting for Afroborike? I didn’t think so.

This is an 18+ one, the tickets are $8, and the doors are at 8pm. We will be performing around 9:30, so you’d better set your DVR to record the HGTV Design Star finale (we’re rooting for you, Dan!!!!!). Here’s a “widget,” if you’re into that sort of thing:

Chop Chop will be giving away free tickets on WZBC at 5:00pm this afternoon (and also, we’ve been promised, discussing A&E’s Hoarders). Listen at WZBC.org for your chance to win!

Finally, OUR ALBUM HAS BEEN MASTERED!!! As in, it’s finished finished, for real real. What’s this? You want to hear it? Well, lucky for you we’ve put five tracks up on our myspace. Don’t just sit there, let us know what you think!

Hmm, three TV shows mentioned in one post… Anyway! See you suckers on Sunday.
