Radio interview tonight on WXOJ!

Posted by Matthew Connor on October 30th, 2008

That’s right, tonight I will be appearing on WXOJ 103.3 Valley Free Radio in Northampton to discuss the upcoming album and concert, and probably plenty of other not as pressing issues since I have trouble staying on topic.  The show, Music of Flywheel with DJ Alduru, will air from 9pm-11pm, and for those of you not in Western Mass. you will be able to listen to the show streaming from the WXOJ website.

Okay, that’s it.  As you were.

Now let us turn our attention to those other guys.

Let’s get this out of the way: Friday, November 7. Middle East Upstairs. 9pm. $10. We’re playing with the Daily Pravda and Midatlantic (formerly the Bleedin Bleedins). These are the established facts.

Last week we discussed what a Pravda really is, so now let us set our sights on the other young lads we will be sharing a stage with that you will all have the pleasure of watching since you’re coming to our show and sticking around for the other acts like well behaved adults, right? Here is their new video:

  • Does that singer look familiar to you? Think long and hard about this.
  • For the first minute and ten seconds, this is quite a good song. At the 1:10 mark, you may notice that this has suddenly turned into a literally very good song.
  • This is mere speculation, but I think this would be very easy to move about to in a live performance setting. When you play this for your Gran and she says “That’s all well and good but can you dance to it?” you may respond “Absolutely yes.”
  • Has the name change from the Bleedin Bleedins to Midatlantic affected the band’s chances of becoming an internationally recognized recording sensation? Only time will tell, really, but in the meantime they get to join the likes of Prince in having the word ‘formerly’ in their name. Who doesn’t like Prince?

So there they are, introductions all around. We are quite excited for next Friday and not just because it will herald in the weekend but because I think it is safe to say that this is going to be a terrific show. Do arrive early because we are on first, and make sure to not have too large of a dinner late in the evening because we would all hate for there to be any unfortunate incidents. You know what I mean.

Have you seen this woman?

Posted by Matthew Connor on October 28th, 2008

You would probably remember if you had because she is “not difficult to look at.”  And don’t be fooled by the photograph, she almost always appears in color.  She’s quite fond of orange, actually.

Anyway, this mysterious woman refers to herself as Punketta Doilie so that is what we will call her.  If you have been to a Provocateur show, you have seen her.  She hoots, she hollers, she convinces you to buy our stuff instead of another drink which, let’s face it, you probably didn’t need anyway.  Maybe you took my advice last week and saw her DJ at Bloodfeast.  Or maybe you didn’t and are kicking yourself now, so I’ll cut to it:

If you are in New York, you can see Punketta spin at SMACK! on Halloween night (ahem, Friday).  SMACK! is an insane party, and we should know; last time we performed there I ended up with lesbian pornography projected across my face while I was singing.  People sure do have some strange fetishes.

If you are in Boston, she will be back at Machine on Saturday with her monthly night Shelter, this time featuring DJ Peter Lee as well as live performances by Perfection Plastic and Memmaker (Kanye Glasses Alert! Also, Good Dance Music Alert!).  Click [here] to learn more and to RSVP.

There probably won’t be any lesbian pornography, but anything could happen on All Saints Day really.

Happy Birthday Stacia (A Day Late)!!!

Posted by Matthew Connor on October 27th, 2008

That’s right, yesterday was the ever elegant Stacia’s birthday! I would’ve written about it on the day of except for this bizarre unspoken internet code about not blogging on the Lord’s Day. Moving on. Stacia, we all know how much you’ve been wanting to unlock your inner diva so the band has collectively pitched in and purchased you the Flirty Girl Fitness Pole Kit, and your discreet shipment will arrive at your door in a plain unmarked box within 2-4 weeks!

Soon you will feel longer and more supple. I hope you have a “standard height ceiling”. :(

Happy birthday Stacia!!! Without you Provocateur would only have two boobs!!!

Well, it’s not quite Halloween yet…

…but we can pretend it is tomorrow night anyway, right?  If you’re in the Boston area and want to get spooky or whatever, might we humbly suggest:

BLOODFEAST.

Here are some details for you to record in your daily planner:  Saturday night -  9pm -  Machine Nightclub - 21+ - $15 (all proceeds benefit the New England SPJ Scholarship fund) - costume contest (winner receives $1,000 CASH).  Our good friend Punketta Doilie (a.k.a. that sassy broad at the Provocateur merch table) will be providing the dancin’ tunes, along with other pals Michael Savant, DJ ZNUH, and DJ Wolf.  Brain-meltingly awesome videos and equally fantastic hair by [:angeldustrial:].

If this hasn’t convinced you yet, let me just put this out there for your consideration:  There is a strong possibility you will see all four members of Provocateur at Bloodfeast, possibly even in costume.  I don’t want to give anything away, but I can’t wait to don my dreamcatcher earrings….
