TOMORROW, you will come to The Pill at Great Scott in Allston, where we will be performing “with a sly neon wink cascading from the stage in a glittery shower of electro-pop.” The best showers are the glittery ones, obv.

I’d like to apologize to my family for the filthy mouth, and to opera singers everywhere: I don’t really f***ing hate all of you, just most. Oh look here’s a gif of Chris drumming:

Are you counting down the days? Because there are only nine left. Nine days until the release party, nine days until the album is unleashed upon the world, ten days until I take the world’s longest nap still wearing my hot/uncomfortable shoes.

I know the anticipation can be overwhelming, so I’ll do my best to keep you entertained in the meantime. Check out this acoustic cover? remix? complete reinterpretation? I did of our super smash hit (in my mother’s car) single “Leave Her To Heaven.” And while you’re over there, poke around our SoundCloud for the original track and the fabulous Redlight remix. See? It’s not going to be so bad.

The owner of the Paradise Rock Club (where we will be playing this evening at 9pm sharp) just called me on my mobile to tell me that if tonight’s show doesn’t sell out he is going to personally club a baby kitten to death. You know those bands. The ones who seem to be celebrities in their own minds, saying things like “Make sure you show up by 5:30pm to beat the line which will be around the block and obstructing traffic by 6!,” or “Tickets are selling at an alarming rate so you should probably go ahead and order a dozen now JUST TO BE SAFE!” The ones who sincerely believe every show they play is a momentous occasion (”This is our 17th show so come help us celebrate!” “Please come to our show on December 30th… It will be your LAST CHANCE to see us this year!“). The ones who promise you a mind-blowing, life changing musical experience when you hear the new song they’ve been working on all month (”We can’t wait for you to hear our skull-crushing new jam, influenced by Schoenberg’s early period, the paintings of Frida Kahlo, and Kanye West!“)

Well, we’ve employed all of these tactics and more in the past, but this time around we’re going to stay true to the perfect blend of sarcasm and sincerity that has become our trademark [Ed. Note: Shut up, Matthew.] and we’re just going to come right out with it.

We’re playing a show at the Paradise Rock Club on December 3rd, 2009. We’re opening for Nitzer Ebb. We are OMG EXCITED about this show and really really really want you to come.

Did you know that we are playing a show on Halloween night? Well you certainly can’t claim ignorance as an excuse now because I just told you. Cue the flyer:

And here is What You Need To Know: The show is at Great Scott in scenic Allston Village. It will begin at 9pm (read: GET THERE EARLY), is $10, and you must be of legal drinking age to enter. Also performing will be Lifestyle (featuring Sean of Freezepop notoriety) doing a set as Depeche Mode, Lake Champagne doing a set as Prince, and the first ever live performance from Halston. As for us, we will be dressing in costume and doing a spoooky cover of our own. The winner of our What Should We Wear? costume “contest” was Kenny V in JP who presented us with this lovely image:

On The Town with Provocateur

Today’s news in brief: We will be performing seven or eight songs from The Album live on the radio tonight, as well as giving a possibly coherent interview afterward. The show is called On The Town with Mikey Dee and airs on 91.5 WMFO from 9pm-midnight. We will be performing at 10:30pm. You can stream the station at WMFO.org. I think that’s about it, back to you Susan.
